Here’s the SINGLE most IMPORTANT exercise you can do if you want to grow a Successful Business…
It’ll take 10 minutes.
(and it might make you cry….)
Thousands of Entrepreneurs have done this exercise at this point. It’s changes everything because it allows you to see the true baselines & underlying issues in your business for the first time.
Here’s the EXERCISE.
I do it every single month.
There are six core pillars you need to be thinking about in your business.
- Operations / Product and Service Delivery
You can know exactly where you are going in your business in the next 30 and 90 days based on the Six Pillars Exercise.
While while we do have a paid version of this 6 Pillars Assessment (where we go in-depth with 88 questions and you are then given a specific action plan for the next steps in your business), the free version above can easily be done by yourself & provide you with great insight.
Go for a walk. Completely unplug from technology and clear your mind of the day to day hustle of your business.
Take yourself out of the usual context you operate in
(This is what will allow your mind to go into “lateral thinking” and start seeing new possibilities as well as uncover the destructive patterns that exist in your business)
Now, on a piece of paper, create a section for each of the 6 categories from above.
And start writing.
As you write…
You’ll become stressed.
You’ll become anxious.
You’ll become embarrassed.
However, more than anything, you’ll become clear.
Entrepreneurs are powerful creators.
However, the problem that most Entrepreneurs experience is a lack of clarity combined with Reality Distortion Field (RDF)
One of Steve Job’s friends explained that Jobs lived in this RDF in a way that allowed him to powerfully drive towards his vision without being distracted by temporary issues.
The truth is that we all live with varying levels of RDF in the different areas of our lives….but the key is being able to craft your RDF so that it empowers you instead of deludes you (and drives you to ruin)
This exercise will help you take off your “RDF glasses” for a few minutes so that you can see clearly what needs to be done now. Once you have clarity, you can then reconstruct your RDF in a way that empowers you and addresses the key issues you face right now.
So, WHAT’S NEXT?
After you detail out all of the issues, it’s time to go through and figure out what you can solve, how to solve it and in what order.
If you have a team, I translate this into a spreadsheet and then share it with the team, or whoever is responsible for making things happen.
It doesn’t matter what the problem is.
Everything can be figured out with the right resources and mentorship from those who have been “there” and done “that”.
Once you’ve done this…
You will have gone through the entire emotional rollercoaster.
From the HIGH-HIGH to the LOW-LOW.
And that’s normal.
Once an Entrepreneur understands a situation, they have complete control to change that scenario.
So, what’s the difference between those who do this exercise and stay where they are? And those who exceed all expectations and use this to explode their level of growth?
Action and Momentum of Implementation.
It’s as simple as that.
See, sometimes it’s important to come out of being an Entrepreneur and in the “doing” and rise up to the 30,000ft. view to see what’s really going on.
That’s is exactly what I’m asking you to do with this exercise.
